Workers for the U.S. government will not get any pay raises in 2011 or 2012.
President Obama has ordered this as a way to cut government spending. It should save $2 billion in 2011.
The White House says, "This freeze is not to punish federal workers or to disrespect the work that they do." It says everyone must give things up to help the country's economy.
Soldiers and other servicemembers will not have their pay frozen -- only civilian workers.
