A court in Maryland, USA, has found a Singapore man guilty of planning to help a terrorist group.
Balraj Naidu was trying to buy weapons for the Tamil Tigers, a group trying to overthrow the government of Sri Lanka. He tried in several countries, but many dealers refused to sell to him.
In 2006, he met a U.S. government agent posing as a weapons dealer. Naidu and several others paid this person for American weapons. One person went to Maryland to test fire them. They planned to pick them up in Guam, a U.S. territory.
The others were arrested after paying for the weapons. Naidu and another person were picked up later.
