September 11th is the anniversary of the
terrorist attacks on the U.S. in 2001. Its official name is Patriot Day. On
this day, Americans take time to remember and honor those who died in the attacks.
This year, the President and many others went to a
ceremony at the Pentagon (U.S. military headquarters). It was one of the places
attacked in 2001. 184 people were killed. There is a memorial to them at the
Pentagon.
From now on, people who were at the Pentagon during the attack will give talks to visitors at the memorial. Lisa Dolan, whose husband was killed in the attack, arranged this.
