The suspect in a bank robbery was found after taking a taxi from the bank to a shopping mall.
The Northeast Bank in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, was robbed earlier this month. A man gave a teller a note that said, "Count out $3,000 and you won't get hurt." After he got the money, he left in a taxi.
The bank's vice president wrote down the taxi's license plate number and called police. When they found the taxi, the driver told them the man had ridden to Northtown Shopping Center. The police went there and arrested Theron Preston Washington.
Washington had been in the bank before, asking about opening an account, the vice president said.
