An FBI report shows that the number of violent crimes, property crimes (such as robbery), and arson (setting fires) in the U.S. went down during the first half of 2009. This is the third year in a row that this has happened.
However, violent crime went up slightly in smaller cities. Also, there was more robbery and arson in country areas.
The FBI makes this report twice a year. It gets information from police all over the U.S.
A man disguised as a woman robbed a credit union in Texas, USA, on Wednesday. The FBI says his disguise "fooled no one".
The robbery began when "what appeared to be a tall black female" went into the credit union. (Credit unions are similar to banks, but are owned by their customers.) The robber wore a black wig with blonde highlights and fake manicured nails. He also had large hands and a deep voice.
He stole some cash and may have escaped in a small gray car.

A New York man was arrested on Wednesday for uploading the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine to the Internet.
Gilberto Sanchez is accused of putting the movie on Megaupload.com. This is against U.S. copyright law. He could go to prison for three years if he is found guilty. There can also be a fine of up to $250,000 -- or twice the amount the person made from breaking the law.
